Welcome to Sunny Buttons!

My name is Amy and I live with my Husband, Matt, and three young children, Evelyn, Jack & Harriet. I live in the beautiful village of Fernhurst, but am originally from Staines. We relocated in 2016 as we wanted to bring our children up with the great outdoors on our doorstep.

In the last 4 years I have been at home, raising our children and this is what influenced the decision to become a Childminder. It enables me to combine my love of teaching & working with children, whilst being able to spend time with my own children. I had a year away from Childminding, whilst I set up a local Nursery. Sadly this proved to be too much of an adjustment for my children, so have returned to childminding.

I am a Qualified Primary School Teacher, and have taught Early Years up to Year 6. My main teaching experience was in Hounslow, teaching in Year 2. I was Numeracy Coordinator and Year Group Leader, coordinating 90 children and 5 members of staff. Before I was a teacher, I worked as a Teaching Assistant in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

I also run my own Crafting & Alterations business (BubbleBee Crafts & Alterations) around childminding hours.

A Home from Home!

Choosing a childcare provider, when returning to work, is a nerve wracking and daunting experience. (I understand, I've been there!). You are placing a great trust in someone to look after your most precious treasure(s). Being a Homed-Based childminder allows me to provide children with continuity and emotional security, ensuring every child's diverse needs are met and their well-being is paramount.

My home has 3 bedrooms and has a reasonably sized kitchen/dining area and living room. We have an area dedicated to toys/resources and the children can access them freely. We have a grassed garden with a decking area, allowing us to access the garden throughout the year. We also have access to woodlands and fields on our doorstep!

Our Ethos

Since we first opened in July 2017, we have always maintained a strong family ethos, a home-from-home feel. It’s something I believe to be at the heart of Sunny Buttons. We want the best for all our children, families, and our team. We have a strong emphasis on building a healthy team as we believe that: Happy Team = Happy Children = Happy Families. We try our best to create a setting in which our team know that they are valued and supported, and not just there to do a ‘job’. A healthy, happy team creates a healthy, happy environment and a positive friendly atmosphere for the children to flourish in.
